The Joy Awards 2025 featured a huge projected geometric ceiling installation, using 22 RQ35s! As an engineer, this meant we needed a big control system to run all the routing, made up of 14x Disguise GX3 media servers. On this job, I also developed a custom audio system to handle time code distribution to the servers, which allowed the D3 operators to switch the system source between the OB truck, their laptops, and their D3 Edit machines.

This Joy Awards featured a multitude of projection effects. An array of 6 RQ35s dazzled the ceiling installation, 2 pairs of doubled RZ31s mapped a geometrical set piece that was used for an energetic dance number, and 2 more pairs of doubled RZ31s mapped a giant set of golden wings! A further pair of mobile RQ35s that rear-projected onto a water screen for a powerful show opener. These had to be set and warped at the start of the event to ensure a convincing display.
