With a large amount of scenery for a stage of its size, it became a challenge to assemble and fix all of the trucks in the wings but one the team rose to. We had to plan carefully what was needed for each scene and where it had to live off stage. The highlight has to be the operation of Aladdin’s magic carpet as we carefully manoeuvre Aladdin through the air and, more importantly, back to the ground.
My role included operation of the counterweight lift magic carpet, assembly of all the set, moving trucks for scene changes, and rigging of LX.
This Christmas, your wish is our command as we take you on a magic carpet ride and welcome you to our most lavish and hilarious pantomime ever – Aladdin!
Making his pantomime debut, top actor and comedian Rufus Hound headlines as the evil Abanazar; and is guaranteed to give you a fright! Pantomime Royalty, Bobby Crush will add a touch of glamour as Widow Twankey. Mis-Teeq pop princess and star of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Sabrina Washington will capture everybody’s heart as the beautiful Princess Jasmine.
We guarantee you will be rolling in the aisles with laughter as Britain’s Got Talent finalist Ricky K plays the loveable Wishee Washee and star of the hit comedy Hormonal Housewives, Julie Coombe makes your wishes come true as the iconic Genie of the lamp. Completing the cast as our hero Aladdin, we proudly introduce the incredibly talented Joshian Omana.
With sparkling scenery, spectacular special effects, dazzling dance routines, cracking costumes and a laugh-out-loud script, Aladdin has something for everyone. So let us whisk you away to a land of make believe! An unforgettable pantomime experience for the whole family.
The classic tale of good versus evil and at New Theatre, Peterborough, wishes really do come true!
